Kanye West Promises That Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 Will Be 'Amazing'

"Where amazing happens" doesn't just take place on the NBA courts — it also happens in Kanye West's studio. The Grammy winner says Jay-Z's long-percolating Blueprint 3 will be well worth the long wait the MC's fans have been enduring.
"Jay is in control of everything in his domain," Kanye, the album's producer, said last week during a promotional visit for his book, "Thank You and You're Welcome."
"He's just been working on it, and it's gonna be amazing when he drops it. I think it's good he's taking his time to give people the best product possible and not being rushed by this fast-food, media-outlet, Internet, everything-is-getting-leaked, people-stealing your-songs-before-you-can-mix-them-and-put-them-online world we're living in right now."
Kanye revealed that he and Jay went back in and made some alterations to B3 since they first started.
"We actually removed all the songs with Auto-Tune off of his album," West said, "to make the point that this is an anti-Auto-Tune album, even though I released an album that has all Auto-Tune!
Scarlett Johansson & Pete Yorn - 'Break Up' (Album)
Singer-songwriter Pete Yorn's 2009 is shaping up as a very busy year. After his fourth album "Back and Fourth" hits stores on June 23, he's scheduled to release a Serge Gainsbourg/Brigitte Bardot-style duets record with actress/singer Scarlett Johansson this fall.
Entitled "Break Up," the nine song set is due September 8 via Atco/Rhino. The lead single, "Relator," is available starting today (May 26) via iTunes and streaming on the album's website.

What Jimmy (Iovine) Told Charles Hamilton
What Jimmy told me was to do my thing, and use the business to my advantage.
Interscope is used to a certain sound, as evidenced through the latest Em release ("Relapse"). The crystal clear, uncompressed sound, usually mastered by Dr. Dre (or Ron Fair) is what makes an Interscope album an Interscope album. Content and production wise, they LOVE "This Perfect Life" (much to the dismay of the email).
As far as sound quality, they don't understand it.
"This Perfect Life" was professionally mixed, but in the mastering, I did things a little bit different. Each song was ran into vinyl, before digitally remastering each vinyl-ly mastered song, before mastering the album together as a whole. So you hear actual dust from the record.
So it sounds a lot older than it really is.
Quite literally, you hear the needle drop on the record.

Linkin Park Hard At Work On Next Album
Linkin Park is hard at work on its fourth album, which will likely come out in 2010 according to co-frontman Mike Shinoda.
"It's moving," Shinoda tells Billboard.com. "I feel like we've been writing a lot. I'd say we've got about half the music done, though I shouldn't say halfway because who knows how long the next batch of songs will take.
Shinoda says the group has decided on a producer but is not revealing that yet.
About the sound of the record: "It's not going to be 'Hybrid Theory,' " Shinoda reports. "It's not going to be 'Minutes to Midnight.' And if we do it right, it'll have a cutting edge sound that defines itself as an individual record separate from anything else that's out there." He acknowledges that the rap element that was not a major part of "Minutes to Midnight" may be more prominent this time out, too

Blink 182 Announces Summer Tour Plans
But after a five-year hiatus, Blink 182 members Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge will embark on a nearly 50-date North American arena and amphitheater tour, beginning July 24 at the Joint in Las Vegas, and wrapping Oct. 3 at the Borgata Events Center in Atlantic City, N.J.
The Live Nation-produced trek will feature support on various dates from Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, All-American Rejects, Taking Back Sunday, Asher Roth and Chester French.

New Blink 182 album is on hold right now
Blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus says the band has already written a number of new songs, but don't expect a follow-up to 2003's self-titled smash before the big reunion tour this summer.
"We started writing a few months ago and got well into the writing process, but now we've kind of put the recording of the next album on hold and are doing rehearsals for the upcoming tour," Hoppus told Billboard.com.
After a four-year hiatus, Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge appeared on stage at the 2009 Grammy Awards and announced their reformation as Blink-182.
