IT MAKES ME FEEL BAD THAT OBVIOUSLY I MADE PEOPLE FEEL THAT I WOULD BE CORNY ENOUGH TO SAY SOMETHING SO WHACK AFTER THE PASSING OF AN IDOL, A LEGEND AND MORE THAN THAT A HUMAN BEING WITH FEELINGS AND FAMILY. IT SCARES ME TO THINK WHAT PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE, WITHOUT EVEN A SOURCE. ANY RANDOM PERSON CAN TYPE SOMETHING ON THE INTERNET AND THEN THE WORLD BELIEVES IT. I DON'T TALK TO PRESS OR DO TV OR DO PROMOTIONS OF ANY SORT. I'VE STOPPED CHASING AND BUYING INTO FAME. FAME IS LIKE CIGARETTES WITH NO SURGEON GENERAL WARNING. Another Retirement: The-Dream Announces "Love King" Will Be Last Album

Singer/songwriter The-Dream announced via his Twitter page yesterday (July 23) that his third studio album, "Love King," slated for a late 2009 release, will be his last.

"I am engaged and 'Love King' IS going to be my LAST album!" he tweeted. In a subsequent post, The-Dream explained, "It is going to be [his] last bcuz, everybody is trying to 'KILL THE DREAM!' [The Dream is] the ONLY one that can end [his] career," although he did clarify he "will still be producing, writing, and featuring on other artist albums though."

SL: What made you leave your clientele in Chicago to be Kanye's personal barber?

IBN: Kanye moved to New York and started with Roc-a-fella, but never liked his haircuts. Like in the movie "Fade To Black," he always wore an orange hat, which he called his "haircut hat" because when he'd get his haircut in New York, he never liked it, and put the hat on right after.

'Ye kept telling me "You HAVE to move out here!" but I wouldn't because I was already established in Chicago. Why leave and go somewhere else? I told him, 'If you could match what I make I'll come.' Then he got his record deal with Def Jam, asked me how much I made and had his mom set up my bank account.' Then we went on tour "School Spirit" tour in 2004.

Bloggin' & Me

I started to blog back in December of 2007. I was new to the whole thing and really didn't know much about it. But every month I learned something new and applied it to the blog. This phase was really cool and exciting but after a while, when you reach that point where you think...now I'm happy with where my blog is at and how it looks like and all...this phase kinda stops and some things are not that exciting anymore.

I'm actually talking about The lupEND Blog right now as that is the blog I'm putting the most time and effort into. If someone would have told me 2 years ago that I'd have a blog that Lupe would read (or even know) and Kanye, Consequence, A-Trak, Ibn, Va$htie and various other people would link to on their own blogs...I would've told you "Yeah, right..I don't think so." And if you'd have told me that every Hip Hop blog + MTV, NME, Pitchfork and Entertainment Weekly would name it as a source for one of their own entries, at least once, I would have told you that you're insane.

But all of this happened and I'm proud that we were able to get this far with it...and it just shows me that people must like what we/I do..and that's a great thing. I usualy don't like to brag about things like that (like being linked on MTV.com or Kanye's Blog) but it's a fact and it's dope because not everyone archives something like that.

Lately there are some things that are really annoying though. For example...there are like 10-15 spam comments on the blog every day and it's a pain in the ass that I always have to delete them and it just sucks that I have to deal with stuff like that 'cause I could spend this time on other things.

Then there are people who constantly ask you things like "When does Lupe's album drop?" or "when is he playing his next show, where can I get tickets?" and when they ask things like that I always think...do you even read what I write every day? I mean...if you would...you wouldn't have to ask. Don't get me wrong...I don't mind being asked about stuff and I'm always as nice as possible if people ask me something...but if it's something that I just wrote about 2-3 days ago and you're still asking but you could just read the blog instead...then I start to think...why am I doing all of this if you don't even take 5 minutes of your time to read it?

Besides that it seems like people think that we have some type of inside sources or connections so that we know stuff before it actually happens but let me tell you this...we don't really know much more than any other person and if we get inside infos (which is rare), we most likely won't talk about it 'cause we're not supposed to.

Then there are the smartasses (like I call them) who only leave comments when they see something that you did wrong, that's also very annoying...I don't mind if you tell me that I wrote something grammatically wrong...I don't like blogs with a lot of mistakes myself , but if that's the only thing you're commenting on and you never leave comments on other entries...then I don't really want you to leave comments at all. You also have to keep in mind that I'm German so my first language isn't English...and I think I'm doing a pretty good job on delivering entries without a lot of mistakes. I know people who run blogs and their first language is English and they're making more mistakes in one entry than I do in like 120 in 1 month...what's up IllSeed? lol

Basically, I think comments are not really neccessary at all but if you disable them people start to tell you some shit like...don't rob our freedom of speech. So..yeah..WHATEVER..I think I'll probably just activate comment moderation soon and then I won't have to deal with it anymore.

Why am I writing all of this?..Well...I just had to get it off of my chest 'cause it was buggin' me the last couple of days. I still love bloggin' but it's not as exciting as it was when I first started...some great dude once said that you should enjoy the time when you're that new dude 'cause you won't be the new dude forever...wise & true words.

MCA, a.k.a. Adam Yauch, has been diagnosed with cancer, in his left parotid (salivary) gland and a nearby lymph node. The 45-year-old will have surgery this week, followed by radiation treatment. The only good news for Yauch and Beastie Boys fans? The growths are localized and will not affect the rapper’s voice.

But, yes, this means concerts will be canceled, and the promotions for the new album delayed. This also affects their planned Lollapalooza performance.

"He actually sparked the idea," Jay-Z told Billboard.com about the single. "When he heard the beat he said, 'Man, this is just so hard! This has to be against everything -- no auto-tune, none of that type of stuff!' He didn't know what I was going to do or where I was going to take it, but it was actually his fault."

Jay-Z says that the two recorded one track with Auto-Tune previously for "The Blueprint 3," but once "D.O.A." came about, they decided to scrap it. "After we made the 'D.O.A.' record about a month ago, we were like, 'if it's got to go, it's got to go.'"
