"We mentally want to get back to [2000's "Hybrid Theory"] not because we want to sound like [that], because I don't think we do," Shinoda says of the forthcoming Linkin Park album, which they aim to release in the first half of 2010.

Video: KiD CuDi at the VMA LIFEbeat Benefit Concert in NYC
It was a benefit show, sponsored by a soft drink company, in a nonsmoking New York venue, but that didn't stop Kid Cudi from striding onto the stage Saturday (September 12) night, grabbing a smoke from someone in the front row, hitting it, then launching into a positively spacey set while an audience full of fired-up kids lost their collective minds (and a few T-shirts).
Paying no attention to set times and fighting off myriad technical problems, Cudi bobbed and weaved through a set that drew heavily from his upcoming Man on the Moon: The End of Day album — which leaked last week, leading Cudi to joke, "My album's on the Internet right now, so y'all can download it. But make sure to buy it Tuesday, don't fuck around"

One weird dude @ the Bape event says that he was in a bathtub with Cudi in '03...also...Plain Pat says that they are going to do Kanye's next album soon... dope!
Video: The Black Keys - "Blakroc" Hip-Hop Project (Teaser)
An album featuring The Black Keys and some of the biggest names in hip-hop will be released Nov. 27th under the name Blakroc.
The project was spearheaded by rapper Jim Jones and also sports contributions from Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA, Raekwon, Ludacris, Pharoahe Monch, NOE, Nicole Wray, Billy Danze and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard.
It is unclear who is releasing the project, although sources say hip-hop veteran Damon Dash will be involved. More on Billboard

As part of Fashion's Night Out, a citywide initiative to boost the retail industry, Pharrell worked behind the register at the Soho location of his BBC/ Ice Cream brand. Fans started to line up before the store opened at noon, even though Pharrell wasn't scheduled to arrive until 6 p.m. He said he was fortunate to receive such a turnout.
"I feel blessed. I know that none of this had to be," said Pharrell, who had performed with N.E.R.D. the night before. "I could be in many different places, and fortunately I'm here."
Pharrell founded the brand in 2005 along with A Bathing Ape creator Nigo. The brand is known for its T-shirts, denim, sweatshirts and sneakers in a variety of vivid colors featuring imaginative logos and patterns. More on MTV
